Regarding the memory/storage dispute and the merger and acquisition of CFM, the Chinese flash memory market report shows that in 2017, global SSD exports 157 million units were shipped, an increase of 20% compared with 2016. The HDD market for reverse mechanical hard drives is gradually being eroded, with shipments declining year-on-year for more than ten consecutive quarters. Sales have only gradually increased since 2017. Zhang Pengguo: The implementation of AI technology has led to explosive growth in data. What can be predicted in the short term is that memory manufacturers (such as Samsung, Micron and Hynix, etc.) may benefit more than hard disk manufacturers (such as Seagate, etc.). May I ask? What do you think?
Dave Mosley: Exactly. A simple example is that the shortage of NAND in the past two years has caused the price of SSD to skyrocket, but many manufacturers will still purchase it. Dave Mosley: The global cloud market has grown rapidly in the past six months. The demand for mechanical hard drives has far exceeded predictions, and the consumption of raw materials is huge, resulting in a tight supply.
